Hone-Long (Sonny) Chen

BA (Hons) RIBA

Sonny is the founder and Managing Director of KSR’s China operation. After several years as senior architect in London, with a strong track record of innovative modern design, he launched KSR’s product into China in 2003. Since then he has successfully blended European design quality and expertise into a number of large scale master planning, residential and commercial projects across the country, establishing for KSR a firm foothold in Asia and a solid foundation for further expansion into the growing Chinese market.

Sam Cooke

Sam graduated from the University of Melbourne with degrees in both Architecture and Property & Construction. He worked on a wide range of residential projects in his native Australia before moving to the UK. Since joining KSR he has successfully implemented several large and prestigious residential projects managing both the KSR team and external consultants. Sam has a wide range of interests including cycling and boarding, and is a key mover in organising KSR activities.

Guy Ailion

Guy completed his Masters in Architecture in South Africa with distinction cum laude. He received numerous awards including both the Regional and National Architectural Student of the Year in 2009, and was nominated for the RIBA President’s Medal.

Before moving to London, Guy worked on seminal projects in his native South Africa and exclusive boutique island hotels. Having worked from master-planning to architecture and in film, he brings energy, intellect and a passion for all scales of design thinking to KSR, as well as a sharp wit.

Guy has several interests including cycling, property, technology and design. He is a keen snowboarder; his favourite place to snow board is Les Trois Vallees in France.

Daniel Curtin

Dan graduated from the Welsh School of Architecture, Cardiff University in 2008. He worked in Vancouver and Sydney before returning to the UK where he has specialised in the design and delivery of residential property. Dan enjoys working closely with the design team to produce imaginative and practical design solutions and has expertise in project co-ordination, detailing and design management. He is a member of the Green Register and has a comprehensive knowledge of sustainable building methods.

Outside of architecture Dan enjoys participating in numerous sports and spends much of his free time cycling, running and hiking. In April 2010 he trekked to Everest Base Camp and has recently returned from a cycling tour of the French Alps.

Richard Solomon

Richards enthusiasm for architecture was fueled by studying at the Architectural Association under internationally renowned architects, Rem Koolhaas and Zaha Hadid. He is the partner with overall management responsibilities within the practice, playing a significant role in maintaining its high quality of design and expanding our client base.

Having worked closely with developers for over 30 years, Richard has a commercial understanding of all aspects of development, particularly in the residential sector. He believes passionately in new, innovative approaches to design, system building and sustainability.

Currently working on projects in Russia and China, Richard is the architectural advisor for Burgh House, a Grade I listed building in Hampstead.

Richard is widely travelled. He enjoys adventure and loves nothing more than cycling amongst the wildlife of Botswana.

Gordon Jefferys

Gordon relishes the challenge of developing complex, historic and sensitive sites. He was responsible for a series of award winning residential projects, including Wardrobe Court in the City of London.
In addition to his residential experience, Gordon headed up a successful series of major new build leisure projects for Holmes Place Health Clubs, taking them from design to successful completion. Gordon is well travelled, fueled by his curiosity for remote places, often returning with unusual ideas and interesting tales.
